Tecia Adrienne McGruder McKay, Georgia State Director

Tecia Adrienne McGruder McKay is a product of Omicron Nu Chapter at the University of West Georgia. A Diamond Life Member hailing from Kappa Iota Zeta Chapter, Atlanta, she has held membership over 30 years and a “Double Diamondaire” donor with the Sigma Zeta Foundation. Chartering Omicron Nu Chapter in 1987 and Beta Alpha Chi Zeta Chapter, Dublin, Georgia, in 2017, Tecia has also previously held membership in Mu Nu Zeta Chapter, Anchorage, Alaska, and Delta Beta Chapter, Fort Valley State University.

Her servant leadership approach is developed by her education: Bachelor of Science (Fort Valley State College), Master of Education, Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision (both at Georgia State University), and Zeta Organizational Leadership, Cohort 1.

Her tenure as a Zeta has allowed her to service the sisterhood at all levels (elected and appointed positions), and she most recently served the sorority’s Centennial Commission leadership team focused on initiatives to engage and celebrate the journey of sisterhood.

Zeta highlights for Tecia have been supporting chapter membership to the 2nd highest in all of Zetadom and her first time being a presenter to the national body at Boule. Although both were humbling experiences, her love in Zeta is bonding with Zeta Doves and Zeta Undergraduates.

Residing in Dublin, Georgia with her “love at first sight” husband, Arthur, she is employed as an Associate Superintendent. She is a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church under Pastor Eddie Hixon, Pilot International Club promoting brain health, and the FVSU National Alumni Association Lifetime Member. She frequently spends time with her loving parents, Ruben and Janice McGruder, and dearly loves her family including her brother, nephews, and nieces . . . especially the ones with the middle name being the same as hers, Adrienne.

She is a get it done type woman, but life is teaching her to . . . let go and let God. Everything will be fine. Her guide is Hebrews 11:1, Faith!
